Mrs. Heidi Sipe joined McPherson & Jacobson in 2022.
Heidi Sipe has served as Superintendent of the Umatilla School District since 2007 and has dedicated her career to advancing opportunities for rural students, particularly those experiencing poverty and emerging bilingual learners. She took a leave of absence to serve a school year as Assistant Superintendent for the Oregon Department of Education, overseeing the Office of Educational Improvement and Innovation before returning to Umatilla in 2013.
A respected educational leader, Heidi has served in numerous statewide and national leadership roles, including Chair of the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission, Superintendent Advisor to the Oregon State Board of Education, and Governance and Executive Committee member of the AASA, The School Superintendents Association. She is also a past president of the Oregon Association of School Executives and remains active in the Coalition of Oregon School Administrators.
Heidi was named Oregon Superintendent of the Year in 2016 and received the 2025 Colt Gill Champion of Education Award from the Coalition of Oregon School Administrators. She continues to support students directly by coaching her high school’s robotics team, which was featured in the PBS documentary Big Dreams in Umatilla.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in Reading from Eastern Washington University and an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership and administrative credentials from Lewis & Clark College.
