Dr. Lori Cooper joined McPherson & Jacobson in 2025.

Dr. Cooper dedicated 31 years to public education, with her most recent role as the Assistant Superintendent of Student Achievement in Fountain-Fort Carson School District for 11 years. Her career includes 13 years as a junior high school principal and assistant principal and 7 years as a high school science teacher. Dr. Cooper’s leadership has consistently focused on building student-centered instruction and assessment systems for schools and districts. Dr. Cooper also developed innovative accountability systems using local data and feedback processes, which gained recognition from organizations like the Aurora Institute, the Colorado Department of Education, and the Colorado Education Initiative. Currently, she works as an associate for Solution Tree, specializing in assessment and grading practices.

In 2010, Dr. Cooper was named Colorado Secondary Principal of the Year for her leadership in building multi-tiered systems of support1. This work led to several journal articles and a book publication, How RtI Works in Secondary Schools. She served as the 2022-2023 President of the Colorado Association of School Executives (CASE) and has been involved in various state legislative and accountability committees. Dr. Cooper’s educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Northern Colorado, a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Phoenix, and a doctorate in K-12 leadership from Walden University.
