Dr. Jeffrey Tooker joined McPherson & Jacobson LLC in 2025.

Dr. Jeffrey Tooker enjoyed a distinguished 32-year career with the Placer Union High School District (PUHSD), culminating in his service as Superintendent. A proud graduate of one of PUHSD’s own high schools, Dr. Tooker is widely recognized for his student-centered, forward-thinking leadership and his deep commitment to educational excellence. Throughout his career, Dr. Tooker built strong, collaborative relationships with Governance Teams, families, and community partners. He is particularly known for the outstanding rapport he fostered with employees and labor associations—reflecting his belief that “great communities have great schools.” Passionate about strengthening schools nationwide, Dr. Tooker continues to share his expertise to help communities cultivate exceptional learning environments.

Dr. Tooker is a sought-after presenter at state and national conferences, where he has addressed audiences of School Trustees, Superintendents, and educational leaders on topics such as transformational school improvement and navigating today’s complex political climate. His excellence in administration has been formally recognized by the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) with awards for both School District Office Administrator of the Year and Co-Administrator of the Year. In addition to his public speaking and consulting work, Dr. Tooker serves as an adjunct professor for UMass Global and California Lutheran University, teaching master’s-level courses to teachers and aspiring administrators. He is also a Leadership Coach with the California Association of School Administrators (ACSA), mentoring site and district leaders and instructing in the Administrative Credentialing program. He additionally serves on Doctorate in Education committees for UMass Global. Dr. Tooker earned his Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Organizational Leadership from Brandman University, a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Organizational Leadership from the University of San Francisco, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Social Science from California State University, Chico.
