Dr. Adam Clark joined McPherson & Jacobson in 2022.
Dr. Clark currently serves as the Superintendent of the Mt. Diablo Unified School District in Contra Costa County, California, a position he has held since July 2020. He leads a diverse district serving over 30,000 students and 3,800 employees. Under his leadership, the district has made notable progress in fiscal stability, academic achievement, and stakeholder trust. He expanded access to advanced coursework, implemented data-informed strategies and established successful professional development systems to improve student performance and outcomes.
Prior to his role in Mt. Diablo, Dr. Clark served as Superintendent of the Vallejo City Unified School District. He has also held cabinet level leadership roles including Associate Superintendent of Educational Services and Assistant Superintendent of Student Services. He began in the classroom and served as an elementary, middle, and high school principal.
A strong advocate for educational excellence, student well-being, and community engagement, Dr. Clark has been recognized for his ability to bring people together and lead systems-level change through collaborative and transparent practices. He is deeply committed to preparing students for success in college, career, and life.
Dr. Clark earned his doctorate from Saint Mary’s College of California. His professional expertise includes educational leadership, fiscal and operational management, stakeholder engagement, and executive coaching.
