Mr. Vande Kieft joined McPherson & Jacobson in September 2002.
He has served 22 years on the Cedar Falls, IA school board, including nine years as board president or vice president.
At the state level, Mr. Vande Kieft currently serves as past-president of the Iowa Association of School Boards, after serving a two-year term as IASB president in 2000 and 2001. He has been a member of the IASB Board of Directors since 1993, when he was elected to represent District #3 (northeast Iowa). He has served on the IASB Legislative Resolutions Committee and has represented IASB on the FINE Project Review Committee and the Iowa Math and Science Coalition. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Iowa Schools Joint Investment Trust (ISJIT), Iowa Schools Cash Anticipation Program (ISCAP), Iowa Joint Utilities Management Program (IJUMP).
At the national level, Mr. Vande Kieft served as an Iowa representative to the NSBA Delegate Assembly since 1997 and has served on both the Central Region and National Nominating Committees for NSBA.
Mr. Vande Kieft retired from John Deere-Waterloo Operation after thirty-four plus years of service, holding a variety of management assignments and has a degree in mathematics from UNI. He is active in church, community and family activities. Dick and his wife Judy have three grown children.
