Dr. Phil Schoo joined McPherson & Jacobson in 2005. He served as a public school educator for 42 years in the states of California, Michigan, Colorado and Nebraska. He retired in 2004.
His career included six years as a classroom teacher, three and one half years as an educational consultant for the University of Michigan, one year as a middle school principal, five years as an associate superintendent of instruction and the last 27 years as superintendent of schools in three school districts.
As superintendent, Dr. Schoo worked in three school districts: four years in Forest Hills Public Schools, Michigan, enrollment 5,000 students; four years in Pueblo School District No. 60, Colorado, enrollment 20,000 students; and for 19 years in Lincoln Public Schools, Nebraska, enrollment 32,000+ students.
Dr. Schoo currently serves as Chair of the McRel Board of Directors and as the part time Executive Director of the Nebraska Center for Excellence in Education.
Dr. Schoo earned his B.A. degree from Calvin College and both his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Michigan.
