Dr. Michele DeSera Bortner is a national educational consultant for both the public and private sectors. She specializes in special education, finance, personnel and organizational development.
Her previous positions include serving as a Superintendent, an Assistant Superintendent, adjunct professor of special education and educational administration, an elementary principal and a secondary teacher of children with disabilities. Dr. Bortner has also served in Pennsylvania state government as the State Director of Special Education and the State Director of School Audits.
Dr. Bortner completed four years as the President of the Pennsylvania Federation of Democratic Women in June, serves on the York County Heritage Trust Board, preserving York County's history, and is a past President of the Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators---Women's Caucus and continues to serve on its Executive Board.
