Mr. Quimby joined McPherson & Jacobson LLC as a consultant in 2003. He is a retired superintendent and living in Brandon, South Dakota. He holds two degrees from Northern State University and did further graduate work at the University of South Dakota.
Mr. Quimby spent 39 years in education, twenty-six of those years as Superintendent of Schools. He began his career as a teacher in 1964 in Hecla, South Dakota. He later became the Junior-Senior High School Principal in Frederick South Dakota in 1971. Five years later, he became Superintendent of Schools in Frederick, a post he held for eight years. He then went to Metlakatla, Alaska as Junior-Senior High School Principal. He later served as Superintendent of Schools in Gettysburg, South Dakota and Parkston, South Dakota, retiring in 2003. In 1994, he was named South Dakota’s Outstanding Superintendent.
Mr. Quimby has served as President of the South Dakota School Superintendents’ Association; he was Legislative Chair for eight years for the School Administrators of South Dakota; and he served two terms on the South Dakota Professional Administrators Practices and Standards Commission.
